Just a suggestion: Enter desired volume level numerically using the numeric keypad and incrementally using the arrows and the PGUP and PGDN keys.

Hi,

I like your Volume Control Reloaded gadget (running it on Windows 7). but I have one issue with it, which I hope you will look into.

WITHOUT Volume Control running alongside my half-dozen other gadgets, the CPU usage of sidebar.exe (the host app for gadgets), as show in Task Manager, is only 3 to 4 percent. This includes apps to monitor CPU, GPU, and network activity (with scrolling graphs), as well as weather, time, and calendar gadgets.

When I add Volume Control, the CPU usage jumps to 6 to 12 percent, averaging around 8-9 percent.

All by itself, Volume Control uses 6 to 9 percent of my CPU (running under sidebar.exe). And this is regardless of whether or not the volume meter is showing any activity. This is greater CPU usage than all of my other desktop gadgets combined, and they're collectively doing MUCH more work.

It's not a huge issue, but it still puzzles me why a simple volume control gadget should use so much CPU time.

Best looking volume control gadget so far BUT it has a serious functional issue: when I click somewhere on the volume grid, the volume only increases by 4% or decreases by 6%. It would have been nice to set the volume directly where I clicked on the grid.

Hi, i found your page when i was looking for a ati temperature monitor. And i have to say that i love your gadgets.

This gadget especially, i was looking for something like this for a while now. I have only 1 problem with it. I have 2 sound cards an integrated RealtekHD and an Creative X-fi and i frequently swap between them, and your gadget remains on the first default saund card. Could u make it that it detects if the default sound card is change and update or, if that's to hard, to make a way to change the default sound card form the gadget.

Keep up the good work, your gadgets are awesome

Thx!

Hi, just wanted to say your Volume Control Reloaded gadget is awesome! Exactly what I was looking for.

One question though: I have two sound cards in my Vista laptop - the built-in stereo sound, and also a Creative Labs 5.1 USB sound card. I find that your gadget isn't able to change to whatever sound card is currently the default one. If I load the Sidebar while the 5.1 USB card is attached and is default, then your gadget will work nicely on that sound card (mute, change volume, set presets etc) - but if I later disconnect the USB sound card so that my computer changes to the built-in sound, your gadget doesn't identify this, and so it no longer works - nothing happens when I try to change the volume or change mute etc. It's still locked to the USB card. And the same thing happens the other way around. It depends on which sound card was enabled and default when the Sidebar was loaded.

Is there any way to fix this, so that it changes to whatever the current sound card is? That would be wonderful!

Thanks!
