A new version for this Fantastic Tool !!!

aber echt geile Gadgets die du da machst, wie gesagt, dass mit der Takt Anzeige hätte ich gerne Real-Time, hatte vorher Everest Beta Gadget, aber geht ja bei Sandy Bridge nicht mehr.

erstmal ein großes Lob an dich Orbmu2k. Das sind wirklich alles fantastische Gadgets. Eines jedoch stört mich bei diesem Gadget. Ich besitze einen Quad-Core und das Gadget zeigt mir Core 1 und 3 in grün und Core 2 und 4 in blau an. Wäre es möglich, das du die Bars genauso gestaltest wie beim “Quad / Dual Core Usage – Sidebar Gadget”? Der Übersichtlichkeit halber.

However, your frequency reporting does not always match Intel’s Turbo Boost Technology Monitor, a Windows application. With full load on each of the 8 threaded cores, the Intel App will report 2.6, 2.7, or 2.8 GHz depending on core temperature. With real-time turned off, your gadget frequently displays 2200 MHz momentarily during that time, alternating that with 2700 MHz, and only occasionally matching the 2600 MHz figure. With real-time turned on, your gadget displays 2195, 2594, and 2693, which is a better match to the Intel app, but still includes the 2.2 GHz anomalous reading.

When only one of the 8 threaded cores is under full load, your gadget does better; with real-time off, it switches between 3000 MHz and 3100 MHz as expected, although the Intel app shows only 3.00 GHz, never 3.10 GHz. With real-time on, your gadget reports 2993 MHz to 3093 MHz, as expected.

Perhaps the mismatches are due to some filtering on the part of the Intel app, but I’d still be surprised to have the cores actually switching to 2.2 GHz under full load.

(For processor loading, I ran BOINC, allowing either all of the processors to run, for 8 threads, or allowing only 12.5% of the processors to run, for 1 thread.)
